10 years of practical IT support within educationFrom everyday troubleshooting to whole-school change

01 / A little about me

Good with systems.
Better with people.

My background is in education. My work has always included helping people get the best out of technology.

Alongside teaching and leadership, I’ve spent ten years troubleshooting hardware and software, administering Google Workspace, supporting colleagues and working with external IT providers. I also led a school-wide Bromcom implementation, from configuration to staff training and ongoing support.

I enjoy finding the cause of a problem and explaining the solution clearly. I’m now bringing that experience to technical customer support and customer success.

The experience behind it

02 / Selected work

Practical problems.
Thoughtful solutions.

A mix of professional experience and personal projects. Different settings, the same curiosity.

Professional experience / Systems & adoption

A new system.
A confident team.

Led the implementation of Bromcom at Shirley Community Primary School, configuring workflows, training colleagues and becoming the first point of contact for questions.

Inside the work

The task — Introduce school-wide workflows for registration, staff and pupil data, assessment and reporting.

My contribution — Configure the system, investigate issues, build reports and help colleagues adopt the new workflows. Follow through on everyday questions after launch.

Personal project / Workflow automation

Less formatting.
More relevant applications.

A modular, JSON-based CV generator and editor built to make tailoring applications easier. Reusable content and editable sections turn repeated document work into a more manageable process.

PythonJSONWorkflow design
Inside the project

The problem — Tailoring documents can mean repeatedly copying, editing and formatting the same information.

The approach — Separate structured content from presentation, reuse sections and generate a CV from JSON. A practical tool developed around my own application workflow.

The visual is an illustration of the workflow.

Personal project / Hands-on learning

Curiosity doesn’t
stop at work.

I maintain self-hosted services at home and experiment with tools and small Python automations. It’s a space to investigate how things fit together and work through the problems that come with them.
